This website is to help keep you up to date on what’s happening on site, the developing

BRICKWORKS MASTERPLAN UPDATE
DOMA is encouraged by the comments from community and authorities following the Environmental Impact Statement’s public notification period coming to an end.
Through this process we have learnt that TCCS and the ACT Emergency Services require a 7.5m wide dual carriage edge road to run along the south-western boundary of the Brickworks site from Denman St to the Brickworks access road off Dudley St (now officially named Brickworks Way). This has impacted DOMA's approach to the master planning of this area. This south-western pocket of the site was previously planned to contain two apartment buildings with 32 apartments in each. The new masterplan for this area has replaced these apartment buildings with townhouses and two additional housing blocks along Denman St.
It is important to both DOMA and the community that this new road is not used by vehicles to take a shortcut or “rat-run” through Yarralumla. To mitigate this risk removable bollards have been included to provide “dead ends” to these roads whilst being able to maintain through access by Emergency Services and ACT Government vehicles if/when required.
DOMA plans to submit this updated quadrant of the masterplan in the EIS response as well as the Draft Estate Development Plan submission and comments received from the community via this website during October. We would like to thank all those people who took the time to submit feedback on the proposed update to the Masterplan. These comments will circulate within government eventually allowing Doma to submit a Final Estate Development Plan for Development Approval which will be publicly notified. There will be a public information evening held prior to this submission (likely early in 2022).

Key changes include:
Replacement of 2 x 32-unit apartment buildings with 44 townhomes and 2 freestanding houses (net reduction of 18 dwellings in this part of the precinct)
Introduction of a new central park in the middle of the townhomes
about the project
Doma is pleased to have exchanged contracts with the ACT Government for the purchase and development of the Canberra Brickworks Precinct in Yarralumla, an important piece of Canberra’s history.
The 16.1-hectare site will contain 380 residential dwellings in a mix of houses, terraces and apartments. Most of the existing structures will be retained and repurposed into commercial and retail spaces or else left as interesting relics evidencing the industrial history of the site.
Doma will continue to liaise with the Community Panel established by the ACT Government, as well as the wider community, to ensure the success of the development.
